Attend the TBRI® Caregiver Training to learn new skill sets that will help you feel more confident and at ease as you help your child to heal and thrive.
Hi, I'm Jessica. I’m a therapeutic social worker with over 20 years of experience helping adoptive parents navigate their parenting journeys.
Using an attachment-based, trauma-informed parenting approach called TBRI®, I teach parents how to become a strong parenting base for their children so they can heal from early adversity and trauma. My clients go from feeling unsure and stuck in their parenting to feeling proactive and empowered with skill sets that allow them to parent with more compassion and ease.
If you are ready to create a family culture where you and your child can thrive, join me at the next TBRI® Caregiver Training.
See you soon,
Jessica
Over the course of 4 weeks, I’ll show you how TBRI® can help your adoptive family to flourish in four simple steps:
You’ll learn the principles of TBRI® and how to put these into practice, creating a foundation for your adoptive family to thrive. I’ll guide you through the process and provide you with knowledge, encouragement, and compassion along the way.
You’ll make stronger links to your child's past and understand how they impact the present. We’ll explore where your child has come from, where you have come from too, and how this is shaping what is taking place now. I’ll provide you with support and sensitivity as you expand your awareness and develop greater insights into your adoptive family.
You’ll deepen your understanding of how a safe, nurturing base supports your child's overall development. I’ll help you to develop skills to create a greater sense of safety for your child and help you to deepen your connection. You’ll be supported to become a more present parent and strengthen your relationship with your child.
You’ll learn how to respond to challenging moments with your child while holding their attachment needs in mind. I’ll help you to develop skills to support your child to manage their inside and outside worlds and how to help them develop the capacity for self-regulation. You’ll gain more clarity about approaching tough situations and feel positive about moving forward.
TBRI® helps you, as the adoptive parent, to support this process in a more confident and relaxed way. I hope you'll join me at the next training.
We'll meet virtually over Zoom.
The classes will take place one day per week for four weeks.
Each day takes place from 9:30am to 4pm (GMT).
We use a combination of slides, videos, activities, and discussions throughout, and you'll receive workbooks that go along with each training day.
The upcoming trainings are tailored for adoptive parents who have children aged 10 and younger.
January 17, 24, 31, and February 7
There are a maximum of 10 spaces available for the training. Each "space" refers to one parent or one couple attending together.
When you sign up, you are committing to attending all 4 days.
The cost for attending the training is £1,200.
Payment is required in full at the time of booking, and once paid, the fee is non-refundable.
Jessica is excellent at creating a safe and compassionate space for participants. She uses the word "grace" and the expression "giving grace to parents/carers" which is very moving and comforting when feeling somewhat inadequate as a parent.
This is less about being certain about getting it right - but more about how you approach parenting.
I have really enjoyed this course and found it really useful.
I found all of it quite empowering.
TBRI® is designed to meet the complex needs of children who have experienced adversity, early harm, toxic stress, and/or trauma. Because of their histories, it is often difficult for these children to trust the loving adults in their lives, which often results in perplexing behaviors. TBRI® offers practical tools for adoptive parents to see their “whole child” and help them reach their highest potential.
If you are committed and put your TBRI® knowledge and skills consistently into practice, you are much more likely to see a positive benefit in your family. TBRI® is investment parenting, and the greater you invest in your parenting, the greater the benefit your child and adoptive family will receive.
Although you are not able to make up a missed session on a later date, you will have a workbook that you can refer to if you miss any of the training. While it isn’t the same as being there, it will help you to catch-up.
If you are an adoptive parent living in England, you have the option of using the Adoption Support Fund to pay for the TBRI® Caregiver Training. To do so, you will need to talk to your local authority’s adoption support team, and they will make the application on your behalf.
I am confident that the time and money you spend will be more than worth it over the course of your and your adoptive family’s lifetime. You'll have deeper family bonds, as a result of the understanding, compassion, and care shown towards your child. You'll be a stronger secure base for your child moving forward so they are better able to thrive. Your child will have better overall well-being because you have proactively supported their healing journey.
